History
Invented in the Anteres system by a race with even more cumbersome and delicate tentacles than the R̂eg̈r̊ü; this sartorial technology quickly entered into widespread use within the Federation and most other galactic space not controlled by the R̂eg̈r̊ü Empire, where their use is explicitly banned.
They have proved to be just as popular with the sexually-adventurous as with the be-tentacled; allowing for remote, clandestine sexual contact while both parties remain fully clothed (and within range of each other).

The external material varies depending on the user's race and/or personal preference. What sets them apart from other trouser-like garments is the portal(s) to a small pocket dimension that are located adjacent to the appendages they are intended to keep out of the way.
Pocket dimensions are customizable in a number of ways with the use of either the provided wireless control pod or an application compatible with most personal communicators. They can even be linked together to provide multiple entry/exit points if desired, a feature that comes in handy when the owner has forgotten their keys in their other pants.
*Pocket dimensions are not considered to be safe for prolonged total immersion. It is not advisable to use them on appendages responsible for respiration of any kind.
