Prince Taerien was the only living son of Crown-Prince Albion of Aletheia and Princess Erulinnya of Aletheia, the youngest grandchild of Emperor Asterion of Aletheia, and the cousin of then-Prince Cyne of Undria and Lady Alysia of Undria.
He and his father were both killed during a holiday sojourn in the southern reaches of the Aletheian Empire in a shocking attack that threw the nobility into outrage and forced Cyne and Alysia into the line of succession. His death was a huge blow to the Empire, and especially to his cousins, who mourned him bitterly.
Attempts to resurrect both lost heirs failed without reason.
