Specially reinforced straps cross shining scales, a safety harness just in case the worst happens. With each powerful motion of the legs, the ascent becomes shorter and the summit closer. While not the first to reach the summit of every peak of the Spikes of Kallex, it is still an accomplishment, one that transcends the colors of scales and the assumptions made of each color. For this young Dragonkin, this climb meant everything, a success that no one could take away from them.
Teal Dragonkin are the descendants of one of the Elder Races and a Teal Dragon. These people are agile climbers and find their greatest passions in the ascent and summit of the highest mountains. They join societies that love the thrill of adventure and the heights they can reach, including those secluded societies of the Avians. These people strive to serve with their talents, mapping and exploring those places that are the most difficult to reach in the world.
Above all else, these people respect the thrill of adventure and the knowledge one can gain if they set out and look for it. This is their defining purpose, to share their knowledge of lesser-known places and things with those that may never be able to reach these sights. In many ways, the Teal Dragonkin are much like the Avians and Humans, always searching for another adventure, another unmapped peak to find. They have left the ego of Chromatic Dragons behind and only look to the good that comes from their talents and wanderlust.

Anatomy

Teal Dragonkin share some specific traits with their Draconic ancestors that prove their ties to the Teal Dragons. Their facial features are sharp, defined on the jawline by small protruding spikes and a halo of horns. A ribbed crest on their head, a ridged tail, and smaller muscular bodies are also common in Teal Dragonkin.
All Dragonkin inherit sharp claws, extremely strong and protective scales, as well as a breath weapon that they can use. Some of these traits are affected by the color of the Dragonkin as the many varieties of Dragons also vary greatly in their abilities. Teal Dragonkin have a resistance to ice and wind while their breath weapon is able to produce a large gust of freezing or burning wind that rips the breath from one's chest.

While their coloration is in their name, Teal Dragonkin can still come in a variety of shades of teal, matching the shades found in the scales of Teal Dragons. Their scales can range from a light teal color that is nearly sky blue to a dark bluish-green color. The color of their eyes has a much smaller range, often only being yellow, brown, red, green, grey, or purple.

Social Structure

Teal Dragonkin are another of the Chromatic Dragonkin that are extremely social and do well amongst other races. Often, they choose to make their homes near mountains and cliffs so that they can utilize their strong legs for climbing and exploring. While the Fearsome Maw is a central location for these people, it is also common to find them scattered in villages throughout the mountain ranges of the world as well as near the Crumbling Wall. Those that have met a Teal Dragonkin have often said they have a love of wonder and exploration, much like the Humans.
It is quite common to find these people in villages and large cities, often where adventuring guilds or mountaineering is prominent. Because of this love of adventure, Teal Dragonkin seem to have very little stigma surrounding the color of their scales, allowing them to be welcomed into societies much like Pink Dragonkin. Even so, these people enjoy their solitude in the mountains and it is common to find large villages of only Teal Dragonkin in remote areas.
