Pink Dragonkin

Descendants of Pink Dragons

Water rolls off shining pink scales as the wave crashes and moves away. Fish scatter at the first glimpse of sharp claws and teeth, hoping not to be a meal for the predator that does not belong beneath the waves. Nonetheless, scales harder than rock cut through the water, twisting and turning effortlessly with the wonder cut into the Dragonkin's face. This is their talent, to slice through waves and breath in the adventure of the deep, open sea.   Pink Dragonkin are the descendants of one of the Elder Races and a Pink Dragon. These people have an unnatural beauty and charm from their Draconic ancestors allowing them to mingle with the world and go where they please. They live to serve those societies they have joined, bringing beauty and grace to the oddest of places.   Above all else, these people respect poise and manners. They are meant to be refined and graceful, bringing their talents and knowledge to share with the world. Only when near the water does the ego of Chromatic Dragons begin to show through, their swimming abilities far outmatching all that live on land.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Pink Dragonkin share some specific traits with their Draconic ancestors that prove their ties to the Pink Dragons. Their facial features are sharp, defined on the jawline by large protruding spikes and a ribbed crest that flows into larger whisker-like pieces that come from their head. A smaller set of horns and a pointed tail as well as smaller muscular bodies are also common in Pink Dragonkin.   All Dragonkin inherit sharp claws, extremely strong and protective scales, as well as a breath weapon that they can use. Some of these traits are affected by the color of the Dragonkin as the many varieties of Dragons also vary greatly in their abilities. Pink Dragonkin have a resistance to high-pitched sounds while their breath weapon is able to produce an extremely high-pitched sound that will deafen and damage one's eardrums if heard for too long. These people also are extremely agile swimmers and have a natural charm that borders on something magical.   Common Colorations

Common Colorations

While their coloration is in their name, Pink Dragonkin can still come in a variety of shades of pink, matching the shades found in the scales of Pink Dragons. Their scales can range from a light baby pink color to a deeper magenta color. The color of their eyes has a much smaller range, often only being yellow, brown, red, green, grey, or purple.

Social Structure

Pink Dragonkin are extremely social, mingling with other races and making their homes near to others, no matter their race. Often, they choose to make their homes near water so that they can utilize their talents and swim as much as possible. The Fearsome Maw has a great number of Pink Dragonkin for this reason, as the city is close to the shores of Ullindar and the open sea. Those that have met a Pink Dragonkin have often said that they are bubbly and inviting, much like the Halflings.   It is quite common to find these people in seaside towns and villages as well as some of the larger port cities. Because of their personalities, they seem to have broken much of the stigma about their scales, being welcomed into places much as Metallic Dragonkin would. Being welcomed into other societies has caused the number of solely Pink Dragonkin villages to vanish as they have mingled with other races or joined villages of Purple Dragonkin.
