Adamantine Flames

Builders of Mithril Mantle

Káto is a place few wish to travel to, and even fewer still ever wish to make such a place their home. Even with the promise of money, precious metals, and any number of things, few ever attempt to survive a single day or week in the catacomb tunnels that branch off the Great Tunnel, let alone the six months of survival needed to complete the endeavor. But that is where a new group of Adventurers begin to make their mark. In the depths of Káto, a grand adventuring party begins a job that no one wishes to take.   Posted by Fire & Gold, Inc., a new job, left untouched, waited on the job boards of the Dagger Guild. It was eventually taken by three very different Adventurers, coming together in the Little Greenwood to take the job from the large trading company. Their task was to create a trading post in the tunnels of Káto, a haven of safe passage for the expanded trade of the company. These three Adventurers would build the foundation for the party that would overcome the dangers that had stopped so many before them.   The Adamantine Flames, a party of the Dagger Guild, was established during the early months of the year 300 E.A. While its numbers were small in the beginning, it soon grew to contain twelve guild members and their various pets. From across the continent of Vóreios and the seas of Isekai and beyond, the group would become intrepid Adventurers on a grand mission, one that reached far beyond their origins in the Little Greenwood and the tunnels of Káto.

Updates From the Underground

Written by Reinys Ylyndar

So far, we have spent five days in Káto, with two of those days being in the cavern that we now call our own. Work has begun on leveling the floor, removing some of the more dangerous stalactites from the ceiling, and beginning the work of crafting. While a town does not yet exist, we have decided to call this new place Mithril Mantle. It shall be known as the trading post of the Adamantine Flames.   As time moves on, we have begun to meet more of our neighbors. One of the creatures nearby, through a small trade, gave us great information about those who called the tunnels nearby home. The Lesser Dragonkin, Goblins, and others came as no surprise to some, but the other things that lurked would cause us more harm than good. Even so, we have begun to build the necessary buildings for our small town, having completed the forge and some of the protective measures for the doors.   Days pass and more information comes to light, leading us away from the safety of our home, but the mysteries surrounding us must be answered lest they bring us greater trouble later on. First, we travel to the lake, hoping that its murky shores will bring us much-needed answers. So far, our group has found many more questions than answers, but we hope to soon find a change.   Orcs and Witches occupy the tunnels so close to our home and we were once again caught in a fray that was not our quarrel. If nothing else, this shows our intent towards the more friendly neighbors in the dark tunnels, but our encounters have only brought the knowledge that the best safety can be found in neutrality, something that will not be simple for our little party.   Our adventures once again took us away from the safety of Mithril Mantle and farther into the darkness of the tunnels. The abandoned Silver Elf city beyond the abyss and the Lesser Dragonkin could hold important information, and our curiosity continued to win out, even at the detriment of our own safety. Even with some of our numbers gone, the work continued on our post, slowly expanding with technologies and buildings as fast as we could.   The mysteries haunt us now as the dark city and the missing dragon have become near-constant companions as we have raced to finish a number of buildings and things at the post. Our progress here is not hindered by the problems elsewhere, but the mysteries that lurk in the caves are close and becoming closer still. Mithril Mantle cannot keep from joining the shroud, so we must follow the mysteries or be swallowed by one.   The lake we had once attempted to travel to had more answers, but also many more questions. Faith is somehow central to this mystery, as much so as it is to keep our group moving forward. As the days pass, the city we build becomes greater and the mysteries around us also do. It is all we can do to continue on our paths and move forward, building, and searching, The Paladin, the Dragon, and the dark city will not keep us from our goals.   Another Silver Elf city and its Matron calls us, pulling us in yet another direction as Káto tends to do. With little time, we can only prepare ourselves and send the best of us to meet Matron Feldara and state our case and our reasonings for entering Káto. In our weeks in Káto, we have only left to scout the areas around us, very rarely meeting with others who wished to converse on a somewhat even field.   Three of our own have left us to travel to Monitrex, a journey that while not far, is made all that much further by the dangers of the tunnels. We send our best and our most charismatic, hoping for something from the Matron of the city, whether that is recognition or something else, I am not sure. This journey hopefully comes with supplies and able bodies, a leap forward in our never-ending work on Mithril Mantle.   Our group's travels to Monitrex were fruitful in at least one way, bringing us a well-trained team of Dwarves to aid us in clearing parts of the cavern and bringing forth the minerals and ores that are so abundant in Káto. I am not sure quite what to think about their meeting with Matron Feldara. It seems as if nothing much was accomplished other than to draw us further into politics and power struggles in the tunnels that we do not wish to be part of.

This sounds like an interesting group - I kind of feel as though sometimes they might cause more trouble than they help? I saw PT Barnum and it made me giggle.   I do have a question - what happened to poor Spazz the canary to make them traumatised?
