Mithril Stores

Storeroom of Mithril Mantle

The early days in Káto are paramount, without proper planning and a great deal of hard work, this endeavor would fail, long before it ever had the chance of becoming the trading post that Fire & Gold, Inc. believed it could be. The twelve adventurers dove in, clearing the floor and ceiling of the cavern of the sharp rocks that posed a constant threat before they continued with their planning, their drawing, their crafting. The Dwarf known as Tarr took charge of the building, but the simple building they would create would need the expertise of all in the group, various crafts and trades plied to create a storage building that would serve as the center of their new home.   Plans were drawn and discussed, sketched out in the dirt of the cavern floor. Their vision was grand, not nearly the level of delicate and exquisite architecture found in the cities of the Silver Elves or the Gem Dwarves, but the decorative building would serve its purpose well, bringing light and color to the otherwise dark landscape of the caverns and tunnels around them. The two-story building would be made of rough-hewn wood and stone, but the crowning decoration of it all was the delicate stained glass windows made through science and years of practiced hands.   The Witch Lark along with the group's Alchemist spent their hours creating the perfect glass from the materials found close to the cavern, awaiting for the colored pigments placed by a practiced hand. The rest spent their days framing and building, swiftly bringing forth a building from nearly nothing. Until other buildings could be designed and built, the storeroom christened the Mithril Stores would become the center of the fledgling town of Mithril Mantle.

Architecture

This building consists of two stories as well as a roof close to the ceiling of the cavern. Access to the roof is through a small trap door found in the back corner of the second floor of the room. The first floor consists of a stone foundation and walls built from bricks created from the stalactites and stalagmites removed from throughout the cavern. This floor is meant to be sturdy, holding large items and barrels. The stonework was created through the expertise of Tarr.   The second floor of the building is made from wood, utilizing the expertise of Raiden Jax. Here, small rooms were created as places to hang and store plants or other items that need to be dried and preserved. This floor is also home to the Stalagmite Library, a small library in a stalagmite created by Senku Ishigami to serve as reference materials for the Adamantine Flames. The wooden portion of the building was meant to be more decorative and features four large stained glass windows.   Using alchemical processes, glass was created from materials found throughout the area. Lark Goldenflight, a painter by trade, designed four windows, barrels, chests, a bundle of wheat, and a flour sack, that depicted items that one may often find in a storeroom. Because of this, it was decided that stained glass would be common throughout most buildings in Mithril Mantle as a way to identify what a certain building was. These windows are constantly illuminated through the use of simple magic so as to make them more visible in the dark cavern.
