PDRMN Lieutenant Commander
The lowest rank commonly found in command of a vessel, a Lieutenant Commander typically serves aboard a larger ship as a department head, but is also normally the commander of a frigate.
There are typically around 3100 at any one time, 380 in command of frigates, around 6 per cruiser (1200 total), typically 20 on a battleship (520 total), around 80 on each dreadnought, and around 800 on various bases and stations around the system.
This is the lowest rank that ever usually acts independently, but typically a more junior LCDR would be accompanied by a more senior LCDR on another ship and a more experienced XO.
