PDRMN Lieutenant
Very common rank, typically the lowest trusted with any form of departmental command. A starting point in the career of any officer. There are approximately 17500 in the PDRM, 1000 total on the dreadnoughts, 150-200 per battleship (8000 total), around 12-15 on a cruiser (2800 total), and 10 on each frigate (3600 total), along with a 2000 on various bases and command centers.
Qualifications
Typically, completed officer and specialist training, and at least 1 stint as an ensign.
Appointment
Typically automatic unless otherwise disallowed by superior overseeing officer.

Typically carries a small flechette gun with tranq rounds.
They are typically wired into their respective systems, such as engineering or weapons for quick and easy control, if they are the head of a department. If they are a lower, they will simply have standard implants for interacting with their systems.
