Session 13: The Battle of Most Resistance
General Summary
DATE: 21/01/241-10/02/241
- Party arrived in the Temple of Least Resistance, learnt what kind of Ioun Stones it had, met Gar and Elin, as well as Xanustair, a simulacrum of Tsuarinax that had gone rogue
- Also learn that the Ioun stones are the heart of a local massive arcane circuit that provides buffs to the Monks
- Communed with the Monks of the threat and came up with a plan, that they would gather allies and attempt to bring Tsuarinax to an end
- Non-combatants left with Ariadna to the nearby Siraen land of Ariana, as well as seeking any Fian there who might want to avenge their fallen ancestors
- Party left to Kynavar, the nearest major Protectorate of the Anvil city, in order to inform Teirin and the Hammers, though Lucien and Reddrum were sent to find Perit and the clerics of Nythrion to gain aid
- Had to climb down a cliff face as they could not find a path
- Came across the location of the Battle of the Stone Cross
- Found that Kynavar hosts a Kasel as well as a few hundred Hammers
- Met with the Kaemdr after being granted entry, asked for them to communicate with Teirin for them
- A Scion was brought in and communicated that directly to Aion whom passed it on, Scion also asked them to erect eight bonfires equidistant in the shape of a ring, and place a large portion of charcoal in between
- Kaemdr provided the funds for this, at the Scion's request
- After purchasing this the party also purchased a local map that informed them to the short cuts up the cliffs back west
- Got back with just a week left, began preparations
- Ariadna had returned with a few hundred Fian who began to erect wooden towers
- The Monks dug traps and arrayed paths so that accessing the temple would leave enemies in the open
- Lucien and Reddrum returned with Perit & Co.
- 2nd day Sarqinor Elaris arrives and shares tales with Lohren and Grimmie
- Also informed by some local Laylos Erunur that Tsuarinax is coming with a demon army of about 15k strong
- 3rd day; Hammers of Aion begin to arrive, only about 400 arrive over the next few days
- 4th day; Feno arrives
- 5th day; Gnarl arrives to oversee the final defeat of Tsuarinax and the end to a major threat to the Sirean people. The Sirean Fian present keep an awed distance away
- Last day a small host of Qhymos Paladins/Clerics and Sardeyr Elaris arrive to reinforce the defenders
- Storm Clouds build in strength as Tsuarinx's host approaches, and the bonfires are lit by Feno & Bubba
- Out of the bonfires Eight Scions are summoned, whom all begin to chant in Ignan
- The final line of this is ''In life we live as he commands, and in death we serve when he calls", the final words punctuated by the opening of a portal amidst the charcoal, enabling the mass transit of thousands of Emberwights,as well as the thunderous arrival of Teirin
- While the battle rages, the party takes a defensive stance around the center of the temple, with Bubba standing near the Ioun Stones, Lohren at the edge of the Maze Field, Grimmie/Ariadna/Jarran/Narron position themselves in nearby towers
- Two Vrocks begin to assail the party while a traitorous monk, named Linhe, fights Bubba
- During this confrontation Linhe stabs Bubba with Lohren's lost Wakazashi, though it has been poisoned with a Poison of Lethargy
- Using the time bought by this Linhe removes the three Ioun stones and replaces them with a single stone of Bane which curses the Monks, though quickly finds herself being assailed by Lohren and Jarran while the others try and eliminate the Vrocks
- After one Vrock retreats and as more attention is focused on Linhe, she begins to transform into something else, though is stopped when Lohren removes the bane stone, and is eventually killed by Bubba
- While the party mercilessly gives the last Vrock autism and then proceeds to kill it, the battle outside continues to rage
- Cambion soldiers pour down the main concourse, only to be halted by Xanustair, aided by Narron
- Once the Vrock is dealt with and as the party begin to ready themselves to move on, Tsuarinax dimension doors in, proceeds to hit half the party and kills Ariadna
- In a moment of desperation as the party attempts to fight this new threat Narron places the Crown upon his head, immediately becoming Ranorn and summoning Gideon, who proceeds to read off all of Ranorn's titles
- Ranorn teleports away with Tusarinax as Grimmie gathers Ariadna's body and teleports away in search of resurrection magic
- As Gideon explains things, the remains of Linhe become an Omox which assails the party, though is eventually brought down after sustained assault
- Grimmie finds Perit and has Ariadna revived using Breath of Life, and returns to the party
- Ranorn returns and takes off the crown though not after seemingly having a conversation with himself, also has a perfect smooth black sphere with him (what remains of Tsuarinax)
- Gideon explains that Narron is gonna be out of action for some time
- Distant screaming of Tierin can be heard as he did not kill Tsuarinax
- Party Levels Up

- Additional Magma Core Each (unique item that can be forged into many useful artifacts)
