Kalurai (Kal-ur-eye)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kalurai all shared a dark red-brown complexion with prominent veins and often blood-red eyes. The hair colour of the Kalurai tends to be on the darker side, though rare instances of blonde and even red-haired individuals have been recorded. Most stand between 1.2m-1.5m tall, and all posses the sharp, pointed ears of all Triaxian off-shoots.
Biological Traits
Like other Triaxian off-shoots, the Kalurai are relatively short lived, commonly living to one-hundred and ten years of age, making their lifespans just longer than humans. Apart from this, the Kalurai seem to grow at a similar pace to Humans, reaching maturity at about eighteen years of age.

Eyes of Xiar
A small, thin secondary set of eyelids underneath the primary eyelids that enhance low-light vision, the Eyes of Xiar are more like a second iris for focusing light than eyelids. The external nature and the fact that using them is voluntary has led to the Eyes of Xiar being defined as eyelids, though this is is still often debated.Sylvan Ears
A trait passed down through the Triaxian offshoots for millennia, the Sylvan ears of a Kalurai are often though to grant them and other Sylvan species superior hearing, though this is not the case. Small variations in the design of the ears actually provide them with superior hearing in specific circumstances, though this is usually just in the region around their homes.Civilization and Culture

History
The Kalurai find their origins in the Triaxian Bloodplague that tore Ahuduir apart for millennia, as the magical virus drove the Triaxians insane. As the millennia passed, however, and as the Kalkur, as they were then known, reproduced, things began to change, as their descendants began to regain their faculties over the course of generations, eventually becoming the Kalurai. Early in their history, the Kalurai were most notable for their Slave States, a series of nations in South-Western Ahuduir that grew wealthy off of the lucrative slave trade. These states were eventually destroyed by the Empire of the Sun and the Telurai, though the Kalurai were not cast off with their nations, and found their own place in the Empire. Nowadays, apart from the ethno-state of Kauris on Orhindur, the Kalurai are active members in most societies, no longer driven to homicidal rage due to their ancestors mistakes.
