Dourai (Do-rye)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Purple-black skin with bleach-white hair, the Dourai mostly appear similar to the Kalurai in physical appearance, despite their progenitors being the Yurai. Small patches of soft scale-like skin can be found at the corners of their eyes and around joints, seemingly what is left of the Yurai bark-like skin. Red to yellow eyes glow softly on their sharp faces though, it seems, that this glow can be covered up using the Eyes if Xiar. While humanoid, it seems that the Dourai have strange joints, as most of them seem to be able to shift in order to permit strange methods of movement.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Eyes of Xiar
A small, thin secondary set of eyelids underneath the primary eyelids that enhance low-light vision, the Eyes of Xiar are more like a second iris for focusing light than eyelids. The external nature and the fact that using them is voluntary has led to the Eyes of Xiar being defined as eyelids, though this is is still often debated.Sylvan Ears
A trait passed down through the Triaxian offshoots for millennia, the Sylvan ears of a Dourai are often though to grant them and other Sylvan species superior hearing, though this is not the case. Small variations in the design of the ears actually provide them with superior hearing in specific circumstances, though this is usually just in the region around their homes.Civilization and Culture
History
When the Root Wars began in 984 BE, many Yurai were displaced and, without a drive to fight or anywhere to go, these displaced individuals fled down, into the soil and caves beneath. Deep down, kilometers deep, a layer of caves were discovered to hold a verdant paradise of sorts, save for the multitude of horrific monsters calling it home. The fleeing Yurai built their new homes here and, in order to better suit themselves to the conditions, willingly altered themselves using magic, becoming the Dourai. Since then the Dourai have expanded their dominions, forming multiple powerful realms, trading with the Dehural and co-existing with the Qivdaram Ohruk, until space began to become an issue. These newcomers would strike first and be pushed back for years, until heavy fortifications were reached and neither side could keep pushing.
