History and Honor
The Okane Clan Headquarters was a concept originally devised by the clan's first chairman, Sebastian Moriya. In 1901, all the clan could afford to buy was the land, a
5.1 acre lot northwest of Chusett.
By 1912, with the second chairman, Tommy O'Cahan, pushing them, the Okane had garnered a large wealth, and O'Cahan decided it was time to build a central headquarters worthy of the clan. Two years later, Okane HQ, a 57,000 square foot building, was completed. The estate was also decreed sacred ground; absolutely no fighting would be tolerated.
Kijuro O'Higgin would take up the mantle of third chairman in 1918, and had his own ideas for the estate. He demanded all families deliver rare artifacts, heirlooms, and art pieces to HQ for both safe-keeping and to offer display of the Okane's wealth within the manor's walls. O'Higgin built a garden behind the estate and personally helped grow and maintain the plants.
Following the third chairman's death in 1933, Ichiro Iha was named fourth chairman and has managed the estate since. Ichiro has proven much more conservative than his predecessors, having never revealed plans for large changes around the estate.
This place sounds amazing. 21 bathrooms!! I like that each chairman has left a mark upon the headquarters - I wonder what the fourth chairman will choose to do. :)
