Imperial Army

The main ground forces of the Empire of Illyria, the Imperial Army consists of 11 legions with a total strength of over 60,000 soldiers. The Army itself is commanded by the Grand General who receives his orders directly from the Emperor / Empress.
The majority of the Army is stationed in and around the various major cities of the empire and are tasked to protect the city and surrounding areas from banditry and other dangers. Some of the forces are also used in rotation to patrol the highways of the empire and keep them safe for the trade the empire depends on. Finally there are several legions that protect the boarders and further outlying areas of the empire from attack. One legion is stationed within Fort Marin and guards against any returns of the undead that were defeated in the Undead War. Another legion has been sent overseas to guard the Colonies from other dangers in that section of the world.
The Army originally came into being before the actual founding of the Empire and the first Emperor used his military strength and the might of his Army to band together many of the smaller kingdoms that once occupied the area now controlled by the Empire.
All citizens are required to serve at least two years in the military upon reaching 16 years of age to be granted full citizenship. Individuals can opt out of this service, but they will be subject to taxes as if they were foreigners as well as being unable to receive the social benefits that are offered by the empire.

• 1st Legion - Crown Legion, Usually stationed outside of Illyria, en route to Colonies
• 2nd Legion - Rose Battalion , Empress’s personal guards and guards of the imperial household, currently stationed in Illyria
• 3rd Legion - Stormcloud Legion, Stationed in Threi
• 4th Legion - Forestwalker Legion, Station in Erian
• 5th Legion - First Navy Legion, Stationed in Salindar
• 6th Legion - Thunder Rider Legion, Station at Ft Carn in Great Plains
• 7th Legion - Serpent Fang Legion, Stationed in Berringar
• 8th Legion - Second Navy Legion, Traditionally stationed in Berringar, currently moving Crown Legion to Colonies
• 9th Legion - Bone Hunter Legion, Stationed in Fort Marin
• 10th Legion - Wave Crest Legion, Stationed in Salindar
• 11th Legion - Arcana Legion, Special Forces stationed mostly outside of Threi, also acts in some capacity for training
• 12th Legion - Jungle Cat Legion, Stationed in the Colonies
