Composition
Tactics
The Arcana Legion has two main focuses of its tactics, both based on its primary purposes. As a result, the Arcana Legion provides a support role to the Imperial Army, supplying new recruits as well as a rapid deployment special forces units.
First, the Legion is responsible for training of new recruits to the Army. The intake of new recruits causes the size of the Legion to vary as new members are added, trained and then assigned to other Legions for permanent postings. Approximately half of the personnel in the Legion are focused on the training and evaluation of new soldiers.
Secondly, the Legion provides magical support and a set of rapid deployment special forces squads to deal with any short term needs that the Army may have. This can include natural disaster response, enemy incursions or unexpected magical activity. The needs of the mission dictates which squads are assigned and the Legion maintains a number of different specialized groups to attempt to anticipate any foreseeable requests. To deal with the uncertainty of these types of requests, squads within the Arcana Legion are typically more fluid than in other Legions throughout the Empire. This allows additional flexibility but at the cost of the squad mates not having as much familiarity with each other.
Training
The Legion is responsible for training of new recruits to the Army. As military service is required for all full citizens of the empire, major intake centers are located in each of the major cities in the Empire. New recruits are sent from the centers via magic circle to the training camp outside of Threi. Once there, they are split into various training regiments under the leadership of a Drill Sergeant for instruction on the duties and expectations of a Legionnaire in service to the Empire. They receive basic training in the common equipment and skills needed by all members of the military and are evaluated for inclusion in more specialized roles within the Army.
History
Initially the Arcana Legion was setup to support the other legions within the Empire with specialized elite soldiers. These legionnaires primarily were members of the Arcanum with knowledge of magics of all types. Additionally, members of the priesthood were also included in the specialists attached to this legion.
The scope of the Arcana Legion changed over the years to include training of new recruits before assigning them to other Legions for their final duty tours.
During the Undead War, the Arcana Legion also assisted with overcoming the Siege of Fort Marin. By creating teleportation circles to connect Fort Marin to Threi, supplies and reinforcements could be sent to bolster the Bone Hunter Legion. Additionally, the Arcana Legion worked closely with the Arcanum to study the Undead and work to devise effective methods for combatting them, particularly to prevent the Undead from used recently defeated Legionnaires as material to create new soldiers for their own armies.

Quartermaster Indelph Burnscale
Dragonborn (Blue), Male Quartermaster Burnscale provides for the needs and supplies for the Arcana Legion. Since this Legion has such a wide variety of roles, his job is one of the more complex within the supply side of the Imperial Army. He works closely with the Arcanum for the magical needs of the special forces units and works with the standard goods suppliers for the Army to ensure that new recruits have training on all of the standard equipment they are likely to encounter within their servi
