Schis

Schis, named after the Acovian God of Magic, Schis, is a harsh desert planet located in Eastspace. It is the first planet from the sun. Despite its unforgiving environment, it holds immense cultural and historical significance, primarily as the home of the Library of Schis, an interstellar repository of magical and mundane knowledge.

Geography

Schis is a rugged, rocky planet characterized by jagged karsts, sprawling desert plains, and deep canyons carved by ancient rivers long since dried. Its surface is dotted with crystalline formations that reflect Zed's golden light, contributing to its multicolored appearance from space. Beneath the surface, vast caverns and tunnels serve as natural sanctuaries for the native Schisi and visiting scholars.

Ecosystem

The Schisi, a humanoid race native to the planet, have evolved to survive in the extreme environment. Their physiology allows them to conserve water efficiently, and their translucent, iridescent skin blends with the planet's sheen, providing camouflage against predators and the harsh sunlight.

Localized Phenomena

From outside of the planet, Schis appears to have a multicolored sheen. This is visible from Illon. Occasional surges of magical energy callef Mana Storms sweep across the planet, believed to be tied to Schis's proximity to Zed. These storms can disrupt spellcasting and enchantments but are also harnessed by the Schisi for rituals and experiments.

Climate

Schis experiences extreme temperatures, with blistering days under Zed's relentless heat and frigid nights as the thin atmosphere rapidly loses warmth. Sandstorms are common, sweeping across the planet and occasionally disrupting travel. Rainfall is almost nonexistent, with water being a precious resource found only in underground reservoirs or harvested from the sparse vegetation.

Fauna & Flora

The only flora on Schis are thorny shrubs known as Sandstalkers. They store water deep within their roots, which are prized for their medicinal properties. The main fauna on Schis are the various species of Sunscarabs. These large, shimmering beetles feed on mineral deposits and help pollinate the scarce vegetation.

Tourism

Schis is famous for holding the Library of Schis, a massive library maintained by those races who can withstand the planet's harsh atmosphere, primarily the native Schisi.
