Ladassa

Ladassa is one of the three moons of Illon. It is a jungle paradise that is inhabited by the Hadozee. It has a 52 day lunar cycle. From Illon, it sometimes appears that Nalyetchi orbits Ladassa, despite the planet being so far away. When this happens, it is often called Ytasis' Blessing and considered to be very good luck.

Geography

Ladassa is a jungle moon covered in dense, towering foliage, with sprawling canopies that block much of the sunlight. Occasional mountains and sheer cliff faces punctuate the landscape, making travel difficult without proper equipment. Hidden within the vegetation are winding rivers, deep caverns, and ancient ruins swallowed by time.

Climate

Ladassa is warm and humid, with frequent rainfall that nourishes the jungle and keeps its rivers flowing. The thick air can feel oppressive to some, especially those from cooler or drier worlds, but most species find it tolerable. Calderans, who hail from the scorching, toxic world of Odrus, consider Ladassa comparatively chilly—something evident in Gneiss's ever-present sweater.

Fauna & Flora

Ladassa boasts a vast and vibrant ecosystem teeming with bioluminescent plants, carnivorous vines, and creatures adapted to both the treetops and the jungle floor. Predatory beasts with shifting camouflage lurk among the shadows, while massive insects flit through the undergrowth. Some of the flora even seem to exhibit signs of intelligence, reacting to movement or sound in unsettling ways.

History

Ladassa is inhabited by Hadozee. They worship the Stardancer, God of Stars and Dreams. Sometime long before 183 8E, a pregnant Calderan woman came to live on Ladassa to escape slavery on Odrus. Shortly after, she had a daughter, Gneiss. In 183 8E, the Nova Eagle transport ship arrived on Ladassa, bringing the 8th Era Group with it. (First Encounters | The Actual Players | Episode 1)
