Mage Lord
A Mage Lord is a mage who has been granted ownership of one of the mage towers in StormHaven, this rank is granted by the King, or Dukes of Stormhaven. They can be identified by the pendents they wear, given to them by the Dukes apon their appointment.
Appointment
When a Mage Lord steps down, dies, or abdicates, their replacement is usually the most accomplished High Arcanist or apprentice, with approval from the Duke or King
Responsibilities
Training the mages within the tower, advising the nobility when called upon.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A mage lord can be dismissed for failure to embody the values of the tower, failure to fulfil the duties of the tower, disgracing the history of the tower.
Cultural Significance
A Mage Lord is a mage who has earned the respect of the King of StormHaven, and has been granted control of what is essentially, a cultural relic, one of the Mage Towers, ownership of one of these towers bestows not only great prestiege, but provides the mage with one of the finest places to live and practice the arcane arts in the Kingdom.
To study under a Mage Lord is a great honor granted to only the most advanced, and promising of mages.
