The Teeth

The Teeth, the mountain range that arcs around the entirety of the Scorched Dunes, separating it from The Hallowed Forest, The Rueful Plains, and The Hidden Vine. The mountains are composed of large jagged pillars of red and orange stone and clay topped by massive massive centerpiece shelf rocks that have been hollowed out by both wind erosion and the many orcs that dwell within it. The mountains can only be successfully traveled through in three places a long large pass about a mile long that leads toward the Rueful Plains called The Maw, a small narrow path that winds through large jagged formations that lead to the Hallowed Forest call The Narrow Road, and a thin loose sloped trail that winds along the face of several unstable and large rock formations toward The Silent Vine called Goats Trail.

Geography

The mountains tower high into the sky as enormous jagged pillars of dark orange stone that eerily resembles the teeth of a long dead gargantuan monster. The lower peaks are a maze of jagged red slate and variations of sandy marble cliffs and loose red sand. The mountains have countless winding caves that were carved by both the inhabitants of the Teeth and the winds that howl all across the Scorched Dunes. The Maw is a passage way that cuts a gash through the middle of the mountains that face The Rueful Plains. It is a dangerous path dotted with razor sharp rock formations and over hanging slate formations. The pass is also patrolled by a horde of Orcs stationed at the Wolf's Den a large outpost hidden in the bowls of the mountains. The Maw has three main over hangs running across it all are formed by the natural erosion of the winds of the dunes these over hangs, combined with the shape of the rock formations make the Maw appear to the the jaws of a giant skeletal beast. The Goat trail is a very small and narrow path through the mountains that leads to the Silent Vine. It is a perilous three day journey across shear cliff faces suspended right before near bottomless cavern entrances.

Fauna & Flora

The mountains are home to a type of mountain goat called the Cliff Hopper. It sustains itself by drinking the water from the many cacti within the mountains.
