Oasis

The Slave city of the Bleak Sun Coalition Oasis serves as a training and breeding ground for all the servants, miners, warriors, and whores that serve the Coalitions and the Sandmen's needs and desires. Oasis is a large city nestle on the edge of a great inland lake called the Lake of Life which connects directly to The Throat a river which dumps out into The Boiling Sea.

Demographics

many of the higher class citizens of oasis are dwarves but due to the population of slaves and lower class workers that live within oasis the demographic is quite muddled.

Government

The slave city of Oasis is ruled by The Overseer and his Executives. They control all business that is conducted within the city

Defences

Oasis is a fortress like all the other cites of the coalition the Sandmen made sure that their power could never easily be up rooted so they built great walls around all their cities and buried much of the more important parts of the cities underground. Oasis is no exception to this having a massive 100ft tall 40ft thick wall surrounding the entire city with all manner of anti siege devices atop it. There are three gates to the city all with two large guard towers on either side of them that are well manned and well fortified. The main gate faces toward the Teeth and is where almost all foreigners and merchants enter into the city. The second gate is used primarily by the military of Oasis but it is sometimes used by merchants who would like the contents of what they carry to remain confidential. The third gate is located on the port side of the city and is used by the fishermen and slavers that use ships, this gate connects the the great docks of Oasis which go deep into the great lake of life itself and the Sand River.

Industry & Trade

Oasis is a slave city its main trade with the other cities of the coalition and even the other kingdoms of the Scorched Dunes is slaves. But due to its location it is also known to export large supplies of crops and food to the other cities as well as some fresh water from both their underground reservoir and the Lake of Life.

Infrastructure

The city is a bustle with slave markets, food markets, farms, and of course the pits. The pits are a chain of slave gladiatorial arenas spread out around the city their are six in total the lowest is a place called The Maw it is a place where the weak are killed and the strong rise above to the higher arenas. This pit is the most brutal out of the six and also the cheapest to enter for a show, here the slaves fight against themselves, against beasts, and sometimes against mercenaries that come by to train and blood themselves. The next pit is located a little deeper into the city no the outs certs of the slums it is still in poor condition but better condition than The Maw. This place is called Slavers Gamble it is the deciding point for whether or not a gladiator is prepared for the upper pits or not. Here in this pit gladiators will have to face other champions of The Maw along with trained beasts and deserters from the coalitions army. Once the gladiator has survived the Gamble they go on to the half way point of their journey the most honorable of all the pits from here a gladiator can be inducted into one of the many mercenary groups of the coalition or into the army. This Place is known to all as Boot Camp. If the gladiator has not been killed or inducted into one of the two professions they must be destined for greatness or perhaps destined to fuel greatness. After the gladiator survives Boot Camp they move on to the first of the inner city arenas kindly named The Gate House as it is the first real test if the gladiator is worthy of entertaining the higher masses of Oasis. The gladiator will have to fight even more now well trained and veteran gladiators who are all equipped with very good armor and weapons as well as some of the arena masters best and most brutal beasts and monsters. If the gladiator survives this arena they may be given to a high born noble for their personal use or assigned as a body guard to one of them. But if neither of those things happen then the gladiator is truly special and is most certainly going places in this world, once they leave The Gate House they move on the the second to last of the arenas in Oasis this arena is the semi finals if you will of the fighting pits they are populated by the best of the best of the lower pits the champions of the slave masters and of the executives, as well as the higher end monsters that have been captured and imported into Oasis. This arena is aptly named The Mausoleum, if the gladiator survives this arena he may be inducted into the executives personal armory of mercenaries and body guards or they will become the slaves of the overseer himself. But if those things do not happen then the gladiator will have the honor and privilege to become one of the few to ever go to the Great Gilded Colosseum at the center of the city a massive structure of towering walls and columns of limestone adorned with golden ornaments and great banners that hang from the great over look. In this coliseum fights the champions of the Mausoleum and the prized champions of the executives and the overseer himself as well as the prized monsters of the same. The winner and crowned champion of this pit will be transported to the capital city of Bleak Dawn for their final match in the Great Arena of The Sands where they will fight for the entertainment of the high masters known as The Sandmen. In this arena they will fight against the best warriors that the Sandmen choose to through at them until they either die, escape, or earn the respect of the Sandmen and are granted their freedom and a seat as a low noble or a military official or if they are lucky as an executive.
