The Lord's Pendant

The picture shows the Lord's Pendant the One Father uses. This is the first-ever truth pendant created and the closest representation of the first Mother Superior.

If you feel guilty, you are guilty.

— The One Father.

Most priests of the The White Church carry around their necks an indestructible pendant made from the pure essence tears of the One Divine Statue located in Imperias City. The Pendant figurines all have slight variations depending on the artistic affiliations of the pendant creator. All represent the Mother Superior (The first Priest superior) with her hands either in a peaceful pose or purification pose and the ring that surrounds her can vary in brightness from glowing white to pitch black.

The Lord's pendant also goes by many other names, such as the the Truth Medallion, Pendant of Light and Soul Reader. It has two functions:

  1. To determine the level of Taint an individual suffers from.
  2. To see the truth of a person's words by bonding a direct connection with their Soul Light.

The medallion's movements will vary depending on the pendant's purpose.

The Lord's Pendant for Taint:

If tainted, the figurines hands move downwards, and the outer rim turns black; how many Steps to Esh the person has walked will determine the black's darkness. The most skilled of priests can read the pendant to know precisely the step of Esh the tainted person, is on. A master priest can even tell exactly what crimes the tainted person has committed - an ability to read a soul's truth. Below is a simplified list of a Pendant's movements when determining taint.

1) Strong white glow to ring (Arms in peaceful wide pose, hands wide open): the person is pure and has never been tainted (and under no temptations tempted)

2) Gentle white glow to ring (arms lowered): The person is now pure, but at some point, they were tainted.

3) A white matt ring (arms in peaceful wide pose, hands closed tight, no glow): The person has never been tainted, but forces are tempting them from the pure path. They stand on the edge of succumbing to temptation.

4) Light Grey matt ring (arms down by side: They have succumbed to temptation but can redeem themselves by following the The Virtuous Path.

5) Strong grey ring (Arms lowered): This signifies the individual has taken their first tainted step.

6) Ring darkens to black (Arms lowered). The darker the ring the more steps to Esh the individual has taken.

7) Pitch black (Arms lowered): The person is unredeemable. They have fully succumbed to the tainted path and are now as one with the Dark Lord. A priest can do nothing for them. Only the White Lord's own purification powers are substantial enough to save this individual.

Pendant movements to determine spoken truth:

The amount the medallion's hands move determines the extent of a lie:

1.) If the White Lord's hands remain outstretched and motionless, the person spoke the truth.

2.) If the hands waver slightly, the person considers lying but hasn't lied yet.

3.) The person lies if the hands lower.
