Hooman Displays of Affection

Hoomans are generally affectionate creatures by nature. These displays of affection vary between hooman cultures.

Booping

Booping is the action of gently touching foreheads or cheeks with another. It is seen as a platonic sign of affection and is common between partners and family.

Mask Booping

In a similar vein, Mask Booping is the public-friendly version, with gently tapping your mask onto the recipient’s mask, since hoomans wear masks out in public.

Hand Holding

Hand Holding is a common display of affection seen in public, however, the way of handholding is very specific.   Non-interlaced handholding is seen with familial or close platonic relationships, and interlaced handholding is an indicator for a more romantic relationship.

Carrying

Taller and stronger Hoomans can and will occasionally carry smaller hoomans around if they want, though a friendly relationship has to have been established beforehand. Younglins especially love to be carried.   Picking up strangers can cause them to panic and is seen as very rude.

Hugging

Hugging is seen as a friendly gesture to hoomans and can range from being platonic to romantic. It is more commonly seen in public on Nasgovia and Reminia in comparision to Homeworld.

Napping

Tired Hoomans will sometimes nap on other hoomans. The act is seen as a big sign of trust, though it can sometimes be inconvenient for the one who is awake.

Face Touching

Face touching is seen more of a friendly gesture on Nasgovia and Reminia, but has more romantic intentions on Homeworld.

Kissing

Kissing isn’t an action that is meant to be done in public (because of the need to wear masks). It is usually an act done with adults and their partners.

Play Fighting

Play fighting is most commonly seen with younglins, though older hoomans will still sometimes play fight with each other. Play fighting is also common with Reminians as it helps with keeping them sharp, as well as just general bonding.
