Hunter refers to individuals who have knowledge of the paranormal and uses this knowledge to hunt or face off against said paranormal threats for profit.

Normally it works similarly to commissions as they are normally hired by a third party to handle a dangerous problem that normal authorities couldn't with their orthodox methods. Prices vary from Hunter to Hunter but they usually tend to extremely high due to the nature of their line of work.

Hunters with no ties to Vigil are consider nothing more then cold merciless thugs and even by the public they aren't viewed very kindly.

History

After the Lost Age when humanity was still trying build itself up after being given more freedom from the other races, they still had to deal with the many beast and monstrosities that were created by the gods and were now let loose to roam about. To cope many groups of humans would make deals and agreements with other organizations such as the Order of Heaven or Magi in order to survive, but eventually a group of humans manage to strike a deal with druids to learn how to properly fend off the hoards. Centuries later they grew in numbers and spread their teachings to different parts of the world so that with every generation there were always someone capable of fighting back against monsters. After Vigil was founded many were recruited to provide their expertise, while many still clung to their family traditions and stayed independent or against Vigil.
