Aangar
Aangar is the capital of Avaria and was named after one of Avarie's ancestors. It was founded on the ruins of Old Aangar, a city which shared its name and had been founded by King Avar. The city planners took inspiration from Islamic India on topside when designing the architecture of the city. The center of the city is built over the original ruins and sits higher than the extended parts of the city, given the city as a whole a mountain like shape. At the center is the Palace Complex which is made up of the palace proper, the military quarter, the ruling quarter, and the royal gardens. Just beyond the palace complex is the Academy District, which is made up of the Aangar Academy and other intellectual institutes and specific professional centers for medicine and science. Similarly, Uptown is located near the Palace and it is the residential and leisure district occupied mostly by the members of the army, their families, and other members of society with stable income. Past the Academy District and Uptown is the Market District, where most of the commerce is handled. There are restaurants, bazaars, artisans, and service providers here. The edge of the city is called the Lower City and it was traditionally used for mass, public housing for immigrants and refugees, though it has expanded to include private housing for demons who don't have the income to live in Uptown.
Demographics
Every century, Avaria holds a census to collect information of its demographic make up. Typically, roughly 75% of the population is lesser demon and 25% is greater demon. There are also several minorities, one of the largest being oni, followed closely by werewolves. They also gather close data on STDs and the population affected by them can range anywhere from 10 to 40%.
Government
Prince Avarie acts as Head of State and has final rule on all policies, however most of the actual decision making is done by the Advisors and Greater Council (which is made up of the first thirty battalion captains and the advisors).
Defences
A massive stone and metal wall is constructed around the city with several reinforced gates throughout it.
