Personal history
Avarie was born in The First Imperial Harem to Princess Avara. He was the second child between Avara and Lucifer, though his sister, Avaria, was much older and already left the Imperial Harem before he was born. He spent his early childhood playing happily with his half sibling in the harem gardens, blissfully ignorant of the world outside. One day he was playing with five of his siblings and they decided to sneak into the harem basement, a place which they were forbidden from entering.
They made their way through a series of seal chambers, small rooms with no furniture just a door the enter and a door to leave. They entered a final chamber with a table and two chairs. The door on the other side opened and Avarie caught a glimpse of Astaar Roth. Surprised by the children and unable to control his power, Astaar Roth released a blast of holy energy. It instantly vaporized four of his siblings. Avarie grabbed the youngest of the group, Garcel, and pushed him against the wall, shielding his younger brother with his body. Astaar Roth retreated but Avarie was left horribly scarred on his back as well as traumatized.
Lucifer, to cover up Astaar Roth's mistake, had Avarie and Garcel sent from the Imperial Harem before their coming of age ceremonies. Avarie was sent to live with his older sister, but his saint had not finished their training. Avaria's saint, Mivla, took him under her care instead. Avarie was expected to uphold the Prince's Code and as a result he was trained by Mivla to never misspeak. He struggled with this since he was much younger than he should have been when he signed the code and became bound to it. Mivla, desperate to keep him alive, used her telepathy to regulate his thoughts and emotions. Soon, out of fear of emotional degeneration, she began to lock away his emotions, not trusting him to use them on his own. The one she guarded most heavily was love, as love can create and simulate other emotions. She believed once all his other emotions had been spent, letting him feel love would allow him to experience the other emotions he lost again.
When the Brimstone Contract was formed, Princess Avaria was sent to the Dragon King, along with several other Princesses. She left Avarie, now an adult by demon standard, in charge of her province. Mivla was overwhelmed by the loss of her surrogate daughter and she withdrew from Avarie. For the first time in his life, Avarie was solely independent for himself and for an entire province. It didn't take long for him to become overwhelmed, especially as Mivla no longer regulated his mind and emotions. The Black Dunes were soon invaded on multiple fronts. In a last attempt to maintain control, Avarie reached out to his younger half-brother, Garcel. Garcel and his fiancé, Duchess Masusa, sent word that they would defeat the invading forces. Garcel was also bound to his word by the Prince's contract, but he used it to his advantage. After defending the Black Dunes, he swiftly turned on Avarie at the insistence of his new bride. Avarie was severely injured and only managed to escape with his life and Mivla.
He recovered quietly with Count Ixam's territory, a long time ally to his sister that resided in the Plaguebound side of the Black Dunes.
