Keskus
Keskus of House Frentor was the sixteenth monarch of Remon and son of Jayn I. Keskus came to the throne in 1209 aged 21 when his father was killed in the Ambush at Scar Gully.
As an infant, Keskus was brought to a tower in Denerth Woods after a mysterious prophecy foretold his death in a distant land. His father, Jayn I, who deeply believed in the power of omens, ordered that his son be raised in the safety of the tower. Isolated from the world beyond the woods, he was watched over by a cadre of trusted retainers and warriors who ensured that he remained within the protective confines of the forest.
As Keskus grew older, he grew frustrated with his confinement. His teenage years were marked by rebellion against the prophecy and his father's overly protective measures. He would often climb to the highest point of the tower to gaze beyond the trees, imagining the lands and battles that lay far beyond the Denerth Woods. When he finally ascended to the throne in 1209 at the age of 21, after his father’s death at the Scar Gully, Keskus made it his mission to break free of what he saw as the shackles of prophecy.
Upon becoming king, Keskus abandoned the secluded tower and embraced a life of ambition and expansion, seeking to conquor the tribes of the Stonelands. In 1233, his forces were stranded and surrounded. Despite a valiant last stand, Keskus was killed (aged 45) along with virtually all his forces. Keskus' remains were never found, but a memorial was constructed in Jaltra.
He was succeeded by his son Alynn I.
