Boma

The Boma are a humanoid species inhabiting the Helerin Archipelago. They are counted among the Newcomers who arrived in the islands two millennia ago.

Physical appearance

Boma are green or brown skinned, and are slightly shorter than most humans. They are very large in girth, and both males and females are typically bald. Females are generally somewhat shorter than males, but are often broader in build.

Lifespan and growth

Boma typically live to around the age of 70, occasionally reaching 90 or beyond. They come to maturity at around the age of 18.

Innate attributes and abilities

Boma are renowned for their talents with metalwork and other handicrafts.
A small proportion of Boma are able to use magic.

Populations

Boma are the second most numerous of all the species inhabiting the islands (after Humans), making up approximately 12% of the total population. They live among the general population in Helerin's realms, with no settlements of their own.
The Henassim tribe of Mar Mabon is unusual in consisting solely of Boma. They dwell in the northern Thalis Plains.
