Jade Tiger Alliance
The Jade Tiger Alliance is a loose party alliance within the Yashidal court and the adjacent parliaments. Historically, they supported royal princes and princesses or other, mostly related, candidates for the Yashidal throne that were not the current King/Queen Regent nor in the direct line of inheritance like the Crown Prince/Princess.
Since Dragon and Tiger are supposed to create a balance, the Jade Tiger Alliance understands itself as a contraweight against the Regent or their official successor, who are typically symbolised by the Dragon. Depending on the times and circumstance, members of the Jade Tigers were more open about their alliance or acted more secretive to achieve their goals. Succession wars were also often called War between Tigers and Dragons.
While the Jade Tigers do oppose the Regent and typically many of their policies and can appear as a more reasonable and considerate party as their championed candidate for succession typically also displays a certain degree of aptitude for regency, they rarely act against the monarchy as a system since it rarely benefits the alliance members, most of whom are part of nobility or aristocracy themselves. Their popularity tends to rise and fall with the population's overall disatisfaction with the current Regent.
