Kingdom of Atilda
The kingdom of Atilda was built around the mountain fortress that gives it its name. During the Age of Light, the city grew wealthy as it guarded both the path to the lands east of the Bright Mountains, and the road to Lannanor.
The great fortress city was considered impregnable for many centuries, and its white walls were the greatest pride of the Atildans.
After the exile of the Forsaken king of Lannanor, the trade routes weakened significantly, and the kingdom underwent a period of crisis. The peasants became familiar to hunger as poverty levels increased, and the hardened soil of the hills got in the way of subsistance farming.
Despite all of this, when the northern raiders came, the people endured, repelling the legendary invaders many times, until a covert mission allowed a couple of barbarians to reach the royal castle.
After a terrible siege, the invaders offered the king a settlement. His daughter and her child would be married to their leader, and in exchange the city would be spared. After months, the king was forced to agree, and the siege was lifted.
The city survived, although in a roughed up state. But its people, its wealth and its pride were never able to fully recover.
