The strange rumours prove true. On a cold night of Gureggor a large incursion of strange bestial men emerge from the Northern Jungles, ravaging farms and villages across the hills between the woods and the city of Atilda. Ever since the fall of Lannanor, such incursions have become commonplace, but this one would prove to be different...

Not only larger and deadlier than the prior incursions of monsters and deformed creatures, this wave of monsters seems to employ effective battlefield tactics. They quickly move and loot at night, set out fires before the smoke can reveal their location, and traverse the hills of Atilda in a manner that hides their movement from scouts and observers from the city.   It was only due to a lucky merchant surviving a raid to his caravan that the city of Atilda managed to become aware of the threat in time to prepare for a siege.   Built specifically for this scenario, the Walls of the Great Citadel proved resilient to the tactics of the invaders, and the surprise attack was foiled. But the invaders were anything but ordinary, and the city would not last forever without assistance...
