EXRE spaceships

Purpose

The Igavatas use the EXRE spaceships to survey planets they are interested in sending new colonizers. In their travels around the universe, they had never used them to explore planets like the ones in the Hanzelot galaxy. In this galaxy, there are more than a dozen planets inhabited by a sapient species they do not dare to name.

The ships are equipped with combustion engines that allow them to leave the surface and land on ground, water or any type of surface. They can also endure extreme low or high temperatures.

The ship travels at 10.000 km/h, and do not rely on speed because every vessel is equipped with the technology to open a wormhole at a specific point in space and time. The hull is tough enough to resist the crushing forces of the wormholes.

From up here, Dethion looks so blue and peaceful. But the news I get from the planet talk about conflict. They are running into chaos and despair. From the information I have gathered since I arrived here, this is like a hobby for them.

They destroy, they create. They birth beauty and then cover it in horror. I can't understand why They had to bring them back. Why this specific crew?

One pilot

The EXRE are one-person vessels. And if or when the igavata on board cannot pilot the ship, the autopilot is activated. Usually, the missions are short, and it's not necessary to carry a lot of provisions. That changed with the current mission of supervising the inhabited planets around Hanzelot.

This fleet of ships was adapted to have room for storage for provisions, medical kits and a spacesuit in case the designated supervisor needs to land on a foreign planet.

The EXRE contains a life support system and artificial gravity connected to a different source of energy than the engines.

Amir is getting more desperate in his letters to Maya. He doesn't know if she is still alive or not. I don't understand why he writes letters that maybe she will never read.

His stay in Rogion is not miserable. The authorities gave him and his fellow crewmates everything they need to survive. Nevertheless, they've longed for an escape since the day they arrived.

Systems

The supervisor aboard the EXRE has at their disposal the latest technology to intercept, decode and organize all the information they need to analyse the situation on the planet they are in charge to investigate.

There is also a small laboratory for the rare event they need to collect some type of sample. But if the supervisor needs to obtain data with their own hands, that means the mission is not going as well as expected, and no supervisor wants that.

In terms of manoeuvrability, the EXRE counts with sensors to detect objects that can crash into the hull and the pilot is trained to avoid accidents. But none of the ships has any kind of armament neither for attack nor defence.

I tried the suit to survive on Dethion's surface today. I did it because is part of the instructions my superiors gave me when I embarked on this mission. I need to check the suit is functioning if I need to land my ship on the surface in case of an emergency.

Of course I won't need it. Why would I want to be among them?
