Order of the White Oak

The Order of the White Oak was developed mid way through the Era of Enlightenment under the combined authority of all eight Noble Houses of Halruaal. In a country full of wizards and magical creatures, everyone thought it prudent to create safeguards. The Order is charged with the investigation of rumors of supernatural threats in the various regions, the search out their holdings, and immediately eliminating potential threats to the common citizen.

Structure

Those that wish to become members of the Order of the White Oak must start out training for the bloodening.  During this ritual, members gain access to the Bloodhunter Player Class.  As they advance, so do their skills in said class.

The Order is based out of the Stronghold of Aenor, the most secure anti-mage prison in Halruaal. Members as both individuals and in small task forces coordinate missions to uproot supernatural corruption. The spellplague has widely led to many dangerous creatures, and still to this day, a rogue Wizard, Sorcerer, or Warlock can pose a region level threat. Nobles and commoners alike are painfully aware that wherever the Sigil of the White Oak appears,

trouble is abound. But whether it is vampires, demons, witches, or various supernatural monsters, the Order hunts them all, sparing no expense and giving no quarter.

Culture

The White Oak also stands apart in that its body receives recruits from every Noble House, every region of Halruaal, and (much to the chagrin of Nobles) every race and sex. As such many of the prejudices of the various factions are actively combated. The number one issue among many nobles has consistently been the fact that Elves are frequently allowed hold positions of power within the Order.

Public Agenda

To create a safe and secure nation from supernatural threats and maintain constant vigilance again incursion.

Citizens of Halruaal, despite having a governance of powerful wizards, are vulnerable to supernatural threats. These threats prey upon innocence and naiveté. Supernatural threats must be rooted out and their victims saved. Those that willingly accept their gifts are either fools or collaborators and must be treated accordingly.

History

Opponents to the Order argued that much of their duties had similarities with House Aetius. However, whereas House Aetius is charged with policing the nation it is a political party. As such, should any conflict arise, it could be possible that bias could emerge in how a threat is handled. All the Houses agreed that the Order would be strictly a non-political branch. Their actions likewise would be exclusively to deal with supernatural threats. Any action against mundane beast, or House backed military would call for an immediate response (least the action be made in self-defense).
