Goliath
Goliaths are the mountain men of Halruaal: a true civilized race of warriors outside of the Orcish races living in the North. Mutual respect exist between the Goliath tribes and the military of House Odinson and both sides frequently train and work with each other in the mountains. Many wizards theorize that Goliaths were once humans that were blessed with increased size and strength by the earth. Whether or not this is true, Goliaths tower over humans and are powerful combatants capable of ripping the arms off an Orc if need be.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Their bodies look as if they are carved from mountain stone and give them great physical power. They are essentially humanoid mountains, towering over humans easily.
Biological Traits
Goliath have the following traits:
- Ability Score Increase: Your Strength increase by 2, and your constitution increase by 1.
- Size: You are a medium size creature.
- Speed: Your base speed is 30 ft.
- Natural Athlete: You are proficient in Athletics.
- Stone Endurance: You can focus yourself to occasionally shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
- Powerful Build: You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
- Mountain Born: You have resistance to cold damage. You’re also acclimated to high altitude, including elevations above 20,000 feet.
- Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and Giant.
Genetics and Reproduction
Goliaths reproduce physically and almost as quickly as Orcs. The standard pregnancy time for a Goliath is 5 months
Growth Rate & Stages
Goliaths have a life expectancy similar to humans, they spend the first 16 years of their lives transitioning between infants teenagers. Around 16 the body transitions into adulthood and reaches their prime around 25 years old. Mid age occurs between 25 and 40 and begins declining into senior status around 55. A Goliath can survive into their late 90s with proper care and healthy attitude, though the demands in the mountains usually ends one's life in their 70s or 80s.
Ecology and Habitats
Goliaths are adapted to the north and the mountains. Coincidently they live in the same area as Orcs - though keeping above ground whenever they can.

Social Structure
Goliaths are community oriented, but only so long as each member contributes. Among them, any adult who can’t contribute to the tribe is expelled. A lone goliath has little chance of survival, especially an older or weaker one. Goliaths have little pity for adults who can’t take care of themselves, though a sick or injured individual is treated, as a result of the goliath concept of fair play.

Goliaths are typically Northerners or Ashlanders, preferring to stay in the North.

Even the least among the Goliaths are capable of shrugging off serious blows and their stature afford them a strength rivaled only by orcs. Noting their adaptation to the cold reaches of the North, they are unhindered even by the magically influenced cold.

Their Tribes usually come first, but for Goliaths that come down into civilization, they can find ample employment in the military of House Odinson.
Average Technological Level
Goliaths still exist outside of the Magisterium for the most part and live in loose collections of tribes. As such, they are not very technologically advanced.
