Clan Oni

Clan Oni is one of the more shrouded Houses in all Halruaal. Known almost instantly for their cunning and deceptive nature, there are no better spies and assassins in the country. Surprisingly, they are native to Halruaal, but they are not the first House. They became a House after starting as a smattering of warring tribes and clusters of factions when Houses Kamose and Udaku arrived on the Island nation. Their warring past has passed with them and formed the understanding they at heart they are spies, political strategist, and assassins. If one is seeking an enemy dead, or embarrassing information on a rival, they go to Clan Oni. But in truth, this has not help their cause in being worthy of trust and a wise person would be careful to keep their guard up around the House.

Focusing in the School of illusion, many of the wizards of Clan Oni are masters of shadows, false truths, and the guise of form. As such they are proficient in politics and stealth (though most choose to favor stealth over honest political transparency). All within their holding are skilled fighters and rogues. Many have trained in hidden monasteries and academies designed to train their minds and bodies. As such while ruled by wizards, most of the Clan are monks, particularly those of the way of shadows.

Inside their monastery, Clan Oni weave plots and form pacts with enchanting forces from the plan of shadows. Very few have seen the whole truth of these secretive people, and fewer yet have been left alive to tell the tall tales of what they’ve seen. Unlike all the other Houses, Clan Oni is not one singular house, but a collection of various (and smaller) sect. Yet still they are loosely ruled by the most powerful among them and as such have a consensus strong enough to hold dominion as a “House” of their own.
