Session 2: A gift of war Report

General Summary

Session 2 began with a crossroads decision... would the party hack and slash their way through sentient mush-flesh?  Or would they go the scarier, more unknown and dubious "off the beaten trail" and into the underdark - option?  The party is brave, hey!?   Hauling the sled down into the Orange line off ramp tunnel, Roost Inque begins to whistle out her hot air.  Xair, who's leading with Strange, duel on whether she should voice her concerns then and there like the diva that she is... Lord Xair raises Imur the Saved 1 inch higher on the noble ladder by cutting his head off elegantly.     Strange spots a light and Diggle Snute explodes into view as a disguised Boom Stick salesman, on his way to the weapon's fair and SRN and who's pocket full of Reefer foreshadows the big reveal.  "Ambush ahead, buy time" is taken seriously by the party and they creep into a bizarre standoff situation.     Lio Nel and his rag-tag-cult-of-the-mother followers attempt to provoke a fight with the party until they are violently and brutally interrupted.  The party watches helplessly as thrope warriors make quick work of the mediocre and flacid "Blanc Nwits".  From having a partial view of the battle and walking past the battlefield... you'd estimate that there were 20-30 thrope warriors and 20 or so militia in the battle and the losses were easily 10-1 and that many militia were incapacitated or surrendered... Lio Nel appeared to be an effective cleric.   through a shrine dedicated to the maiden (one of the faces of the Seven Faced God and eventually into the entranceway of La Val.  It takes some time to navigate     The party is invited to court, which only begins after dinner.  After the Gong, Sih Mard is halfway competent in pointing the finger at Reef Fenra as the Master of Whispers.  He states, with Xair's investigative help, that the source of the mysterious crate and letter that was in Roost Inque's possession, is Reef Fenra.  He double downs and states that he believes he is being set up by Reef Fenra  and that the Orc Boy is likely in the Silver River Garrison.   Part of the of the cost for the "aha!" noble-court experience was that Xair was entrusted with a letter from Sih Mard (sealed) to be delivered to Flodur III or Divad Ironsmitt Sedroc.  The court session quickly wrapped up after this climax.   The party curles up around the crate and comes together and shares their own personal tales of the events around what's being called "the summoning".  Xair invites Roost Inque to "accept the King of the Silver River into his heart" and as a blessing shares his experience with The Cinder Biters and their bizarre ways of working.      San Dra Gruh pushes the intimacy level up higher when she discloses that she's an intelligence analyst working for Garble Joose.  Xair then invites them all to his house in the morning and asks Diggle Snute to provide proper draft animal transport for the crate.  Diggle Snute knows someone and his lead will likely turn up a massive goat to carry the crate.   The party then analyzed the contents of the 2nd letter (the first being revealed in court) and comes to some solid conclusions.  The minnows are expected in 1 day max, that Garble Joose is escorting the Flasks somewhere and that Roost Weasel has the money.  Oh and that the real Roost Inque is actually tied up in the Loving Clam, assuming she is still in trance.  San Dra Gruh's parents (House Lahw Ran) own the establishment.       At some point, San Dra Gruh blurts out that SRN has written the 2nd letter and Diggle Snute and her shoot off into Earth-Ether-Sattva sporetrip... of planting reproduction spores into the earth at the base of the entrance to La Val.     After this beautiful display, Xair speaks of his familial connection to Avalon and Strange Payne begins to talk about where he's from... The Slums of Old Port Ward .  This being the explanation for why the young, sensitive Starange Payne, be in a thieves guild like The Cinder Biters.  Exploring that further, the party quickly realizes that Strange Payne might have left the CBs and joined the...
