The Bloodpool is a lake located in the heart of Back o' Beyond. During the Advent of the Myths, the lake proved itself to be anomalous in nature when it activated and spawned many long-rumoured myths into physical existence in San Andreas.

Description

The Bloodpool is a lake located in the center of Back o' Beyond. It is fairly large and surrounded by forest, and various rock formations. Various dirt paths and trails lead towards and around the lake, suggesting heavy pedestrian traffic, standing at odds with the isolated nature of the area. The lake itself is brown in colour with murky water, containing large boulders interspersed throughout. During the Advent of the Myths, the pool activated several times, and released numerous myths into San Andreas. It is unknown how or why the pool activates, but when it does it spews forth a white mist that engulfs the pool. The name 'Bloodpool' was given by Eve Matthews as she blamed it for the death of her parents.

Events

Advent of the Myths

During the Advent of the Myths, the pool activated several times, releasing many long-rumoured myths into San Andreas. The first activating released Bigfoot, the Yeti, and Piggsy, who proceeded to kill a group of hikers - Eve Matthews' parents included - who were travelling along the lake's edge. As the Advent unfolded, the pool would activate many times more, such as in the conclusion of Heart of the Woods, releasing other myths into the world. The pool was finally discovered by Carl Johnson through intelligence provided by Eve. They journeyed to the pool to investigate it, at which point they found Bigfoot almost standing guard around the active pool. By killing Bigfoot at the centre of the rift, it collapsed, seemingly for good.

X-Files IV: Redefinition

During the events of X-Files IV: Redefinition, the Bloodpool activated once again, this time releasing a high-dangerous android, as well as an SCP Foundation Mobile Task Force chasing it, into the world. CJ and Sarah Williams, who were monitoring the pool under the banner of their new Myth Investigation Agency, then moved in to confront the new arrivals.
