Jallarzi Sallavarian’s House

The residence of Jallarzi Sallavarian, a powerful wizard and esteemed member of the Circle of Eight, is elegant yet sparsely furnished. Unlike the homes of many wizards, it contains few visible treasures.

A pair of loyal servants tend to her daily needs, while Jallarzi herself maintains a tastefully appointed parlor and sitting room for entertaining guests. Her personal suite is lavish, as are the guest chambers, but much of the house remains unfurnished.

Jallarzi Sallavarian

The Youngest and Only Female Member of the Circle of Eight

"We do not need another agent in Greyhawk. Otiluke is our eyes and ears there."
"So? Jallarzi is friendly with Derider Fanshen and learns much more of the seamier side of the city..."

This debate among the Circle of Eight ultimately led to Jallarzi’s provisional induction. She remains on trial within the Circle, not yet privy to its deepest intrigues, though the honor of selection still astonishes her.

At 33 years old, 5’7” tall, and weighing 100 lbs., Jallarzi is strikingly attractive, with wavy honey-blond hair and piercing light blue eyes. Her radiant smile and pearly-white teeth enhance her healthy, tanned complexion, though she has little patience for flirtation and quickly dismisses over-attentive admirers.

She is easily recognized by her intricate arm bracers, crafted from red dragon hide, bound in platinum filigree and bloodstone settings. These function as bracers of defense and a ring of fire resistance.

Her most infamous companion is Edwina, a pseudodragon often referred to by Otiluke as "that damned parrot." The tiny dragon is both a familiar and a character unto herself, with a knack for sharp-tongued commentary.

A devoted follower of Pelor, Jallarzi maintains close ties to Derider Fanshen and High Matriarch Sarana of the Temple of Pelor . Though neutral good in alignment, she is also patient and strategic, often quoting an old Suloise proverb:
"Victory tomorrow is better than rushing to defeat today."

A renowned mentor for mid-level wizards, Jallarzi welcomes apprentices of good alignment, believing in strengthening the power of Good through rigorous training.

Although her official residence is in the High Quarter, she rarely receives visitors there, preferring to meet at the Guild of Wizardry , where she shares a close friendship with Kieren Jalucian—a relationship rumored to be romantic.

At night, Jallarzi ventures into the Old City in disguise, using a hat of disguise to assume the form of a beggar or street urchin. This allows her to observe Greyhawk’s criminal underbelly firsthand, employing magical detection spells to root out hidden threats before reporting them to Derider Fanshen.

One of her few indulgences is a weakness for magical wands, which she eagerly seeks to collect whenever the opportunity arises.

Edwina

Pseudodragon, Familiar to Jallarzi Sallavarian

Summoned from the Gnarley Forest through a Find Familiar spell, Edwina turned out to be far more than Jallarzi Sallavarian anticipated. Fiercely independent and sharp-witted, the little dragonling had the audacity to negotiate terms with her mistress, securing the freedom to roam the city of Greyhawk at her leisure.

Curious and inquisitive, Edwina flits through the city, though she wisely avoids its more dangerous quarters. She is often found at the Roe and Oliphant, where she scolds overindulgent students for neglecting their studies. Another favored haunt is the Savant, where she perches on the backs of chairs, reading arcane tomes over the shoulders of frustrated mages—a pastime she finds endlessly amusing.

Despite her prim lectures to students, Edwina is not above indulgence herself. She has a particular fondness for the rind from roast pork, overly sweet cakes, and fine wines. The Golden Phoenix is one of her favorite stops, where a halfling pastry chef with a soft spot for the creature lets her feast to her heart’s content. After a particularly gluttonous binge, she often grows too fat to fly for 1d3 days, leaving Jallarzi to carry her home—along with the bill.

Edwina has an affinity for elves and halflings, often striking up cheerful gossip with those who greet her warmly. She is not terribly discreet, and after a few too many sherries, she may spill valuable tidbits of information. However, since she can detect thoughts via telepathy, some of her "insights" may be based on misconceptions or outright falsehoods.
