York's Rest-Town

An old and weathered thirty foot stone wall surrounds the town of York’s Rest, protecting the modest town as they have for centuries. The buildings of the town are made from a mixture of cobbled stone and dark wood planks from the nearby forest, and roofs of thatch top them. A feeling of rustic hospitality fills the city as people of all walks of life smile and nod their heads to you as you walk through the city. It seems that this border town on the edge of the Conclave is welcoming to outsiders.

Industry & Trade

While the York's rest makes a fair bit of coin from the various shops and craftsmen of it's town, the thing that has put York's Rest on the map is it's trade of raw ore from the nearby mine.

Assets

The Last Drink Tavern A small two floor tavern made of dark colored wood with a thatched roof. The sign hanging over the door shows a tankard of ale tipping with a single drop hanging from the cup.

• The tavern has eight rooms that are a bit small and simple, but comfortable. They provide breakfast and dinner, but meals are pretty simple as well.

• The owner is an Orc by the name of Gork.

Jacklyn’s Jeneral A small hole in the wall wooden store, the sign outside simply reads the name. Inside the place is packed from wall to wall with goods, some items stacked on top of one another. The place is cramped and difficult to move through, but has a wide selection of goods.

• The Owner is a Half-Elf named Jacklyn

Denica's Den Medicine A long building made of wood with a thatch roof, in the center of the building sits a large set of double doors and above the door swings a sign that reads "Denica’s Den Medicine".

• The Owner is an Oricu woman name Denica.

Boris’s Iron Forging A small stone building with an attached wooden awning that covers a small, but active forge. A row of simple metal letters stuck into the side of the awning reads “Boris’s Iron Forging”.

• The Owner is a Dwarven Man by the name Boris.

History

According to legend the town was built around the last resting place of the great warrior York, who on his own defended the fledgling town from a roaming band of Orc raiders. After which he continued to defend the town before passing and being buried somewhere within the town so that he may defend it even in his eternal rest. Over the years York's Rest has built itself up as a small but prosperous border town of the Merchant's conclave, profiting from the nearby ore rich mountains and fertile soil.

Natural Resources

York's Rest is known for it's large deposits of iron and silver, along with its smaller deposits of copper that are all owned by the Lockhart family and run by Lady Ophelia Lockhart.
