Churchwall

The region occupied by Churchwall has been populated for at least a thousand years of recorded histories, trading hands several times.   Its notable features include its uniquely protected tidal bay, into which the river empties. The Island, situated in the middle of the bay, is only a true island for part of the day, at higher tides when the land bridge is submerged.   Churchwall is a ragingly busy trading hub, with near constant waterborn traffic from both sea and river.   It is divided into several wards: the Crims, Midtown, Fishtown, and the Sky District.   The Sky District, elevated on a granite ridge that overlooks the rest of the city, is home to the Cloister, which is visible from nearly any point in the city.
