Razaycrynth-Deceased
Campaign Recap
Rayphlard Becomes a Sorcerer (30 Mirtul)
On 30 Mirtul, Rayphlárd woke from a dream in which he received a message from his dragon ancestor Razaycrynth speaking to him from the clouds above the Brontide Cliffs. In the dream, Razaycrynth said to Rayphlard:
"Rayphlard, my child. I am proud of you. Among your accomplishments in recent days, you and your allies retrieved the Deck of Many Things. You’ve heard stories of your ancestor Olshirik, I’m sure. Olshirik isolated himself while channeling his skill in wild magic. Before his final days, he crafted this Deck of Many Things.
"Many years ago, a man drew a card from that deck, which created a sword he called Talon. How appropriate, that all these years later, you are the one who now wields it. Now that the sword has come back into contact with the deck of cards, its true potential can be realized.
"Rayphlard, your brother Hurlbárth, the first-born of your generation, was given my draconic powers. Now that Hurlbarth is no longer living, that birthright is now yours. Use it wisely, my child. You will now have more control over Talon, and that control will grow as you learn more about your newfound powers. Rayphlard, this is now your responsibility. Use your power wisely."
After the dream, Rayphlard sensed a newfound control over Talon and its wild magic. He also sensed a new power within himself, as he was given Razaycrynth's draconic sorcerer powers. The sword, Talon, could also be used as his spellcasting focus.
Crisis at the Tower of Storms (1 Mirtul)
On 1 Mirtul, Rayphlárd again woke up from a dream in which he received a message from Razaycrynth. This dream also took place at the Brontide Cliffs, but the weather was stormy. Razaycrynth again appeared in the clouds, this time saying:
"Rayphlard, the Tower of Storms has been claimed by outsiders. My power is fading. The caretakers of the tower, your great aunt and great uncle, are no longer there protecting it.
"The agreement between your family and me was that your family would protect the tower as a shrine to my eternal glory. The outsiders are worshipers of a chaotic god. The longer they remain in the Tower of Storms, the more my power - our power - fades. Drive the outsiders away, restore my light, before it’s too late."
After the dream, Rayphlard felt a dull, faint pain inside his chest. When the rest of Collateral Damage woke up, Rayphlard told them, saying that they needed to go to the Brontide Cliffs right away. When asked why it needed to be done now, Rayphlard said his whole heritage depended on it.
