Glassdancer

Glassdancers are magic users gifted with the sorcerous ability to manipulate common glass, which they can telekinetically shatter, fling through the air, or reshape. Glassdancers cannot manipulate godglass, only common glass.
There are two types of glassdancers: minor talents and major talents. Minor talents can sense common glass, godglass, and other glassdancers, and they can manipulate small amounts of common glass. Major glassdancers are more rare and have much more power. Glassdancers with major talent are often recruited into the military due to their ability to rain millions of glass shards down onto enemy forces. For this purpose, military glass dancers carry glassdancer eggs to use as weapons. Military glassdancers also tattoo their identity on their hands.
Many people fear glassdancers because they can kill with a thought, giving them all a reputation for violence and bloodthirstiness. This fear often generates prestige, which also results in glassdancers being adopted into guild-families. For example, Tilly Jorfax was adopted into the Vorcien guild-family, allowing her to wear both the glassdancer and Vorcien family tattoos. Other prominent glassdancers include Demir Grappo and the Yuglid that Idrian Sepulki refers to as the flying glassdancer, who are extremely powerful major talents, and Kissandra Vorcien and Squeaks, who are minor talents.
