Underworld

In the faith of the Gods of Time and Order, all souls of the deceased that have been given a proper burial descend to the subterranean realm of goddess Elethrain known collectively as the Underworld.
The Underworld is considered to be a solemn place of peace, prosperity and everlasting harmony, where Elethrain rules from her golden palace. According to the myths, there are also portals to other planes of existence, such as the Faerie Realm, the Shadow Realm and the fiendish planes.
Souls of criminals and wrong-doers are not allowed to stay in the Underworld, but are sent forward to the Nine Hells by divine judges. Likewise, those souls that were especially pious and noble are said to be welcomed to the Seven Heavens of the other gods. The vast majority of souls remain in the solace of the Underworld, energizing the earth to allow new life to be born.
The Order upholds the belief that without a proper burial performed by the clergy of Elethrain or some other approved god, the soul of a person cannot pass to the Underworld, but lingers in the mortal realm as a ghost - or becomes twisted into something worse.
