The Usu

Iome Usu and its twin, Taota Usu are ancient portals that are assumed to have been built by The Muka shortly after the world was created. Their frames are metal, wood, and stone somehow woven into intricate designs and braids, creating an arched doorway. Within this frame, the air shimmers and glows slightly, in a distant echo of Che Pyka Fuzha.   Iome Usu, whose name means "the cold door", is located in a cave on a small island in the middle of Sen Simske.   Taota Usu, whose name means "the snake eye door", is located in a cave at the base of Auk Mittak, on the northern bank of the great river.   It is possible that Usukwa, in Tayon Ke is another of the Usu, but the Chye have not had a chance to study it fully.

Utility

The doors are portals into and out of Pyktahua. Usage is as simple as walking through the faintly glowing surface inside the frame.

Manufacturing

It is unknown at this time.
Inventor(s)
The Chye believe that the Usu were created by the Muka at the beginning of time as a way of traveling quickly to and from Che Pyka Fuzha and the rest of the island. They also believe that there are many more Usu scattered throughout the island, but they have been forgotten, destroyed, or hidden over time.
Access & Availability
Iome Usu and its twin, Taota Usu, are known only to The Chye, and used only by the few of them that move back and forth between the outside world and Pyktahua.
Complexity
Almost nothing is known about how the doors were made or how they work.
Discovery
The Chye have been using the doors for as long as is remembered.

Ancient portals are lots of fun!   If Usukwa is another one and someone activated it, how would people using one of the Portal doors pick where they ended up?
