Tanání

Fúmic: Tanání /thanauːniː/
Tanání is capital of the Fúmrá Alliance in south-central Karatvánamb Forest in southeastern Túlmikkía, and the main settlement of the Fúmi, the most powerful ones of the four tribes that make up the federation.
The city is located by a tributary of Hafamb River in the central Iritífe Mountains in the northwestern part of Fúmrá, guarding a pass which forms a relatively easy route between the woodlands to the east and south one one hand, and the Túlmikkían Great Lakes to the north on the other, and as such is an important trading hub for the region.
Goods such as ivory, animal skins, bee balm and intricately painted pottery from the north and shea butter, tamarind, fine íkik-cloth, gold and fox grape wine from the southeast can all be found at the main market of Tanání, along with local wares like grains of paradise, banana beer, iron and túlmikkían bear pelts.

Architecture

As in other settlements build by Tederans, most of the inhabitants live in longhouses with vaulted roofs, made from reed-mats covering a timber frame, though due to seasonal thunderstorms and relatively cool climate in the mountains, the walls of common homes are usually covered with clay while residences of chiefs and high-ranking shamans are mostly made of stone.
Both are often painted with patterns similar to those featured on clothing, baskets and pottery to identify different neighbourhoods, such as those of blacksmiths or fishermen.
Another notable difference, also peculiar to the Iritífe Mountains, is arranging longhouses in rows instead of more traditional grid pattern to make better use of the space available on the mountain sides.
