Kjás (KJAUS)

the Unmaker, World-Foe, the Corrupter

Chaos. Void. Unmaker. Kjás was there at the beginning, the equal opposite to Íðæn the Binder, antithesis to the gods of Creation; what they make and have made, he seeks to unmake. Though impulsive and chaotic by nature, he is nonetheless a thinking, cunning enemy, equal indeed in most ways to his 'sister', even unto being able to create new deities with a thought; thus did he make Ísje the Frostmaiden to be what he is not: patient, calculating, and far-seeing.

Divine Domains

Kjás is the the god and essence of chaos and destruction, the antithesis to Íðæn the Binder.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Kjás has no known physical form, having manifested only once since the Creation of Gæðí, during the conclusive battle of The Godswar known as 'the Godfall'. Even so, a rural belief persists in some parts of Hrafnawyld that Gáðæn Worldfather used the 'body' of the Unmaker to make the world.

Since the Godswar and shortly before Íðæn's promulgation of The Balance, Kjás has been bound, his form and essence dispersed within the world of Gæðí.

Mental characteristics

Failures & Embarrassments

Arguably one of the Unmaker's greatest achievements or biggest mistakes, was the genesis of Ísje. Though her patience and foresight would prove invaluable to tempering Kjás' impulsive nature, for a time, ultimately, the Frostmaiden would eclipse him in prominence as the greater threat to Creation, and become the dominant force of the Únðárín dark pantheon.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

In the present day, Kjás is bound and dispersed, almost entirely incapable of affecting Gæðí in any significant way. Before his binding however, the Unmaker's greatest desire was the satisfaction of unraveling the works of his foes, the Nostín and Súðárín.

Vices & Personality flaws

The Unmaker is extremely impulsive by nature, a trait he imparted to the Fájunn when he 'created' them by twisting and corrupting the living works of Reynja Lifemother.

A notable result of this impulsive aspect was the Targotian Cataclysm, wherein Kjás, after two-thousand years of patiently waiting at Ísje's behest, finally lost all temperance and lashed out, breaking the land for hundreds of leagues, separating Abhagan and Khelegan, and devastating several of the young human civilizations of Gæðí.

Representation & Legacy

Three-thousand years and more after his binding, the Unmaker remains dispersed within the world; though he is unable to take form or to even retain true consciousness, his essence fills the world with fiery rage, occasionally and randomly culminating in quakes and volcanism.
