Nostín (NOHS.teen)
The Nostín (sing. Noste, NOHS.teh) are a family of creation gods most responsible for the making of both the physical world of Gæðí, and the laws by which it exists.
Structure
First and highest among the Nostín is the mysterious goddess Íðæn, sometimes known as 'the Binder', though this role is often attributed to Gáðæn Worldfather, who is likewise believed by some to be Íðæn's divine brother. In fact, he, as well as all the rest of the Nostín and Súðárín, originated from the Binder.
By way of relative age and seniority*, the rest of the Nostín can be ranked as follows:
Gáðæn Worldfather and Þæm Lawgiver
Væð the Enduring
Sigdurn the Giant
Goðræn Battleraven
*Note: While helpful to understand the order in which these gods came into being, this ranking should not be taken to represent an actual hierarchal order of precedence among them.
Culture
With the exception of Væð, who has often been known to enter the mortal realm to run and fly freely, the Nostín tend to be more reclusive, remaining almost exclusively in The Godsrealm and watching their creation develop. In general their culture could be said to be more neutral, carefully observing the Balance and accepting of all the myriad things their creation contrives, good or bad. However, all of the creation gods, Nostín and Súðárín, tend to favor kindness, generosity, egalitarianism, cooperation, and love.
