Founded on the principle that faith in gods was a crutch, the Unorthodox Church was born from a noble-sounding philosophy—helping communities flourish without reliance on divine intervention. Its missionaries embedded themselves within villages, offering aid and guidance, earning the trust of those weary of traditional churches. To the unsuspecting, they were a beacon of self-sufficiency, but beneath the surface, they harboured a far more insidious ambition.
Kenji Xing, their true architect, wove a careful deception. He played the role of a humanitarian, but in secret, his doctrine was a tool to dismantle divine influence and pave the way for Vlox’s corruption. The church’s turning point came on Eidon, where they orchestrated the Sansaints Festival massacre, attempting to wipe out all religious institutions on the island. Their plan was undone by the Shatterbrand, and the Unorthodox Church’s illusion of goodwill was shattered. Even so, whispers of their influence persist in the shadows, waiting for another opportunity to rise.
