Typhon, once under the oppressive rule of Lord Thormund, now grapples with the aftermath of his demise following his part in the Second Pacuran Civil War. The once-controlled regime now faces an uncertain future, the echoes of a tumultuous past still resonating in the air. The Stormblood’s young son Therakles has taken the title after watching the new Oceanking sever his father’s head. Therakles was asked to swear fealty to the new reign of Maximus Tempest while the sand soaked in his father’s blood. Lady Cynthia of Zephyr is the boy’s grandmother on his mother’s side. Maximus believes Typhon to be part of the reborn Pacura but Cynthia has other intentions with her grandson’s island and soldiers.
