Lakeview
Lakeview is a sprawling town that exudes a rustic charm, nestled in the heart of the Lockeport province of the Echose Marshland. The town is primarily inhabited by the Vohkin and Shiman peoples, who pay homage to the god Dhara. The Western Lady of the town is the well-respected Alwen Pembroke, who oversees the smooth functioning of the town.
Lakeview is a retirement village for noblemen and women and that adds a touch of class to the town, with the regal residents decked out in the finery of their youth. Everywhere one looks, there are house sigils decorating the buildings, a testament to the strong sense of community that exists within the town.
The buildings themselves are all constructed according to the same building codes, giving the town a unified, cohesive look. Lakeview is situated overlooking a serene lake down the hill, which brings with it a sense of calm and tranquility that can be felt throughout the town.
Once a place of peace, now a husk of its former self. Lakeview was meant to be a retreat from the hardships of the world—a village built along the edge of Gray Lake, where the water stretched endless and still. The people here were quiet folk, tending to their trade, their homes, their families. But the storm changed that. The monsoons swallowed the shore, and the shadows in the water grew longer, deeper. Now, the village is half-abandoned, its wooden piers rotting, its windows dark. Those who remain speak of whispers beneath the lake, of figures moving just beyond sight. And every now and then, the waters ripple without wind, as if something beneath is stirring.
