Omnivaccine
The Omnivaccine, a Varkesh response to the Solus Omnivirus, has recently been discovered to vaccinate against several other common diseases. Common ailments have become rare following the vaccination of the Varkesh population. Studies are still ongoing to determine other initially unforeseen effects of the Omnivaccine.
Discovery
The Spearing Medical Center originally developed the Omnivaccine to combat the Solus Omnivirus. In recent studies, the Unaligned Medical Relief Corps have discovered this vaccine also protected patients from several other common diseases. This effectiveness seems to also apply to Humans, despite the original virus remaining dormant in the species.
Access & Availability
The Omnivaccine is widely available throughout the Varkesh. Following the Solus Omnivirus outbreak, when Spearing Medical Center found a vaccine, the Va'Ral'Te Council elected to allow emergency distribution without a complete clinical study. The Varkesh have vaccinated a majority of their population, allowing medical researchers to study its long-term effects thoroughly.
Side Effects
Most commonly, the Omnivaccine results in a few days of exhaustion, sometimes coupled with muscle fatigue or soreness. Some less common side effects include mild Omnivirus-like symptoms. Still, no severe or life-threatening cases have been reported yet. For some species, the Omnivaccine has had a notable effect, spurring additional medical research:
While the Omnivirus itself has no noticeable effect on Humanity, the Omnivaccine results in the same common symptoms listed above. Medical researchers have yet to discover any other side effects.
Surprisingly the most resilient non-Human race to the Omnivirus, the Drakari, also lack any other side effects to vaccination. The average time of symptoms is also far lower - Only lasting up to a day in the most extreme cases.
