Deep Kobold Species in Frigranden | World Anvil

Deep Kobold

A wild tribe of kobolds adapted to the lightless depths of the caverns in the Aurlbright Mountains, deep kobolds have poor sight and no practice using the sense. They live in warm, damp underground spaces, cohabitating with red fuzz beetles and infected with creeping moss.

Kobolds are small, intelligent, bipedal reptiles with scaled skin, muzzled faces like a crocodile, and sharp crests who prefer warm and damp environments. Deep kobolds live in complete darkness and with creeping moss. The itching and inflammation they deal with make the deep kobolds distractable, erratic, and loud.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Deep kobolds keep red fuzz beetles as pets. They do not associate with other intelligent species. Other kobolds and half-dragons avoid the caverns inhabited by the deep kobolds in fear of catching the creeping moss.
